Hello.  I am John W. Brown and I am the GOTEC/Career Explorations teacher here at Westwood.  I would like to welcome you all to our new year!

I recently retired from Rockingham County Schools, where I taught middle school Career and Technical Education for 25 years at Holmes Middle School in Eden, NC; 13 of that in Technology Education.  My wife, Jill, and our son Chase, live on the old family farm in Axton, VA, between Danville and Martinsville. Our daughter, Kyra, lives in Dallas, Texas and has just started her first year in Law School. Our oldest, Joel, lives in Greensboro, NC.

I received my undergraduate degree in Business from UNCG, my Masters of Education from the University of Phoenix and my Education Specialist degree in Leadership from Liberty University.  I also spent the first 15 years of my career in industrial management in local industries here and in NC.

I am looking forward to working with your students to help them explore career opportunities through the use of various current technologies that are being used in our local industries.
