RegistrationGrove Park & Northside Preschool Registration Form
Registration window: January 23, 2023 - July 31, 2023 at Midnight, or until available slots are filled.
To register your child, please complete the registration form linked above. Your child must meet the following requirements:

must be 4 years old by September 30, 2023

must live in the city of Danville
**Early Special Education Program for eligible children ages 2-4. Call Grove Park Preschool at 434.799.6437 or Northside Preschool at 434.773.8301 for information on determining eligibility and enrollment requirements.
In addition, the following information is needed to complete registration:

Child’s Official State Certified Birth Certificate (If you do not have this, it can be ordered now through www.vdh.virginia.gov). A certificate issued by a hospital does not meet the state requirement.

Income Verification (Most recent W-2 form)

Most recent immunization record including 4-year-old boosters, as appropriate

Schedule your child’s School Entrance Physical (Must be dated within a year of the first day of school, August 7, 2023)

One proof of current residency documentation must be provided. The child must reside in the City of Danville with either parent or guardian. Parent or guardian will need to show a current utility bill, bank statement, rental agreement, etc.

Photo Identification of Parent or Guardian
Your child will also need to complete an eligibility screening, which will take place at the Grove Park Preschool (1070 South Main Street) from March 20-31. Please bring documentation with you to the screening.

Activ8 STEM Academy
(grades 3-5)Application Window: January 23, 2023 - March 1, 2023 at midnight
At DPS, career exploration now begins in elementary school. New for the 2023-2024 school year, Activ8 Academy for grades 3-5 will allow students to dive deeper into career exploration and STEM. Located at the I.W. Taylor building, the academy will focus on activating 21-century global citizens to be critical-thinking problem solvers focused on improving the world around them. Students will collaborate in an engaging learning environment to make evidence-based decisions using an innovative and rigorous academic program.

Virtual Academy
(grades 2-12)Application Window: January 23, 2023 - March 1, 2023 at midnight
I.W. Taylor Virtual Academy is committed to providing quality, online instruction for students 2-12 while utilizing 21st-century learning tools. Our goal is to prepare students for college and career readiness by increasing their opportunities for rigorous, engaging instruction.

Early College
Program (Rising Juniors)Application Window: January 31, 2023 - March 1, 2023 at midnight
The Early College program is academically accelerated for students planning to enter a four-year college. Qualified juniors complete the last two years of high school at DCC. Students earn an Advanced Studies high school diploma and a two-year Associate of Arts and Sciences Degree in Liberal Arts at the same time.
Students are offered bus transportation and are eligible for all extracurricular activities at their base school. In addition, they can complete classes at their base campus and eat lunch at school.

AET
(Rising Juniors)Application Window: January 23, 2023 - February 6, 2023
This program is a two-year concurrent college enrollment engineering program for high school juniors and seniors that aims to equip the next generation of engineers by giving our students a holistic view of both the exciting career opportunities available in engineering and technology and the rigors required of them to be successful in these programs at a college level.
Students are offered bus transportation and are eligible for all extracurricular activities at their base school. In addition, they can complete classes at their base campus and eat lunch at schools.

Governor's School
(Rising Juniors)Application Window: January 23, 2023 - February 6, 2023
Piedmont Governor's School allows eligible high school students to earn at least 15 hours of transferable college credit while completing the requirements for an Advanced Studies Diploma during their junior and senior years. Participating students sign an Early College Scholars Agreement, and those who meet the terms of the agreement will receive a certificate of recognition from the governor designating Early College Scholars. Governor's School classes meet at the Institute for Advanced Learning and Research.
Students are offered bus transportation and are eligible for all extracurricular activities at their base school. In addition, they can complete classes at their base campus and eat lunch at schools.

Galileo Magnet
High SchoolApplication Window: January 23, 2023 - March 1, 2023 at midnight
At Galileo, students participate in advanced level courses and seek to obtain the advanced diploma upon graduating. Galileo is an International Baccalaureate (IB) school, part of a world-wide academically challenging program. After being listed in national magazines as one of the best high schools in America, Galileo faces the future with a history of proven accomplishments. Students wishing to attend Galileo must apply during the appropriate window. Galileo has limited spacing.
