Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Plyler

I was born and raised in Sigel, Pennsylvania. Upon graduation from Brookville HS in 2001, I attended Carlow University to get my degree in Education.  In the winter of 2005 after graduating from Carlow University with a Bachelor of Arts, I received a Kindergarten Teaching position with GLH Johnson Elementary.  At GLH Johnson Elementary, I taught 7 years of Kindergarten and 3 years of First Grade. In the fall of 2016, I took on a new role at Danville Public Schools ITRT.  After 5 years of working as a Technology integration specialist, I taught for Virtual Virginia as a 5th-grade Instructor.

This year marks the start of my sixteenth year in education. Out of the past sixteen years, fifteen of them have been in Danville Public Schools, where I have spent ten years teaching in the classroom.   During this time, I was awarded GLH Johnson Teacher of the Year, and the SVRTC Technology Teacher Award.  I have enjoyed many things about my job over the past years of teaching, but nothing has been more enjoyable than watching the growth and development of my students over the years, achieve their goals, and go on to start successful careers. I'm looking forward to the start of the 2022-2023 school year. I promise to provide you with the best possible educational experience I can.
