Ms. Susan Harlow

Hello parents and students!

I am so excited about working with you! We have an exciting year of success planned at George Washington High School, and I am happy to be a part of your child's journey through high school.

Teacher bio: I was born on a 100 acre farm in rural Virginia near Buggs Island Lake. For the most part, I spent my time reading or hanging out at the lake, many times combining both of those activities. My mother could always tell I was "different" because I didn't spend my summer months glued to the TV as my older siblings did. Instead, she could always find me somewhere on the farm deep in a love story, a mystery, an adventure, or a story based on the lives of people who still affect us today, such as Anne Frank or Christine Arnothy.

I graduated from Northern Arizona University with a Master's in English with a concentration in Literacy, Technology, and Professional Writing in 2009 and began teaching for GWHS in 2014. It has been and continues to be a journey of excitement.

As a sojourner of this voyage we call life, both my academic and spiritual journey has been one that has given me an appreciation of the diversity of beliefs, cultures, opinions, and expressions of faith. Throughout my journey, I have been fortunate to meet students who are incredible, some of whom have befriended me post graduation. I find all people to be interesting and amazing in their own approach to life.

It is with this philosophy that I look forward to working with you to ensure your childeren's success.
