Bachelor's Master's

Mrs. Bartee

WELCOME To Our CLASS!

I want to introduce you to your child's classroom educators:

Mrs. Bartee (teacher) and Ms. Dixon (Instructional Paraprofessional).

Let me start by giving you some information about myself: I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Multidisciplinary Studies and a Master’s of Education in Teaching and Learning with a Specialization in Special Education. Both degrees are from Liberty University. I have been a special education teacher for 9 years, and prior to that I worked as a Behavior Specialist for 6 years with students with Autism. I also drove a special education bus and a general education bus in Pittsylvania County for a combined total of over 15 years.

Ms. Dixon has 24 years experience working in the educational field. In addition to this, she is a graduate of Pinnacle Career Institute (Pharmacy Technician), Medical Careers Institute of Health Science-ECPI with a degree in Medical Assistant, and Piedmont Community College with a degree in Early Childhood Education.

Ms. Dixon and I believe in focusing on the positive, and not using disabilities as a roadblock. We strive to bring out the very best in every child. We give praise when goals are met, and at every attempt along the way! Our students are held to a high standard in learning, and explore many different ways to assure they have every opportunity to learn using whatever method works best for each individual child.

I also set the classroom standards high regarding behavior. We let our expectations be known from the first day, and give reminders along the way. I work very closely with my student’s parents/guardians to ensure we are all working towards the same goal: for every child to be the very best person they can be now and in the future!
