DPS Mandatory Compliance Course Information

  • Danville Public Schools is committed to providing a safe and welcoming learning and working environment for
students and staff across our district. To fulfill this commitment, all staff members are required to complete the
annual District-wide Compliance Training for the 2021-2022 school year. This training is designed to ensure that
every employee has the necessary information to establish and maintain a positive, safe, healthy and lawful
climate and culture in which all adults and students are able to thrive and do their best work. The mandatory
training, DPS Mandatory Compliance Courses for 2021-2022, consists of 4 online modules which include:

    ● Bloodborne Pathogens for School Employees,
    ● Harassment Awareness,
    ● Child Abuse Reporting and Identification, and
    ● Seclusion and Restraint.

Virginia requires that ALL school personnel complete a course on restraint and seclusion. Virginia’s proposed
Regulations Governing the Use of Restraint and Seclusion in Elementary and Secondary Schools in Virginia, provides the
professional development modules. All school division staff must be given evidence-based basic training in
strategies and procedures to make seclusion and restraint less likely to occur.

The Frontline Professional Growth Learning Management System (PLMS) will house these training modules and
will track enrollment and completion of these courses. We have provided online training programs to assist you
with completing these requirements according to a schedule that best fits your needs. These courses are required
and must be completed by January 31, 2022. Building administrators and supervisors will be monitoring
enrollment on a bi-monthly basis for staff completion, and failure to complete courses may negatively impact staff
    performance evaluation.

Instructions for enrolling in the courses are available here. If you have any questions or need assistance with
registering for the courses, please contact the Office of Professional Learning via email at
dpsprofessionallearning@mail.dps.k12.va.us. Once each course has been completed, you will receive a certificate
    which can be uploaded

Thank you for your cooperation with ensuring that we provide a safe and secure environment for both staff and
    students.
