DPS Mandatory Compliance Course Information

  • Danville Public Schools is committed to providing a safe and welcoming learning and working environment for
students and staff across our district. To fulfill this commitment, all staff members are required to complete the
annual District-wide Compliance Training for the 2022-23 school year. This training is designed to ensure that
every employee has the necessary information to establish and maintain a positive, safe, healthy and lawful
climate and culture in which all adults and students can thrive and do their best work. The mandatory
training, DPS Mandatory Compliance Courses for 2021-2022, consists of 4 online modules, which include:

    ● Bloodborne Pathogens for School Employees,
    ● Harassment Awareness,
    ● Child Abuse Reporting and Identification, and
    ● Seclusion and Restraint.
Virginia requires that ALL school personnel complete a course on restraint and seclusion. Virginia’s proposed
Regulations Governing the Use of Restraint and Seclusion in Elementary and Secondary Schools in Virginia provide
professional development modules. All school division staff must be given evidence-based basic training in
strategies and procedures to reduce seclusion and restraint.

The Frontline Professional Growth Learning Management System (PLMS) will house these training modules and
track enrollment and completion of these courses. We have provided online training programs to assist you
with completing these requirements according to a schedule that best fits your needs. These courses are required
and must be completed by September 23, 2022.

Building administrators and supervisors will monitor enrollment bi-monthly for staff completion, and failure to complete courses may negatively impact staff
    performance evaluation.
