I am Ms. Duncan, and I will be your 6th Grade English Language Arts (ELA) teacher here at Westwood Middle School for the 2023-23 school year. This will be my 11th year teaching.

Before ,joining Danville Public Schools I taught Middle Grades 6-8 In Richmond Virginia, and High School (9-12) in Orlando Florida .I am originally from Jamaica in the Caribbean, and moved to Williamsburg, Virginia with my family 20 years ago. I studied at the University of the West Indies (Jamaica) and Hampton University (Virginia). I am so excited to be your teacher this year: We will be working on reading passages and writing prompts, and analyzing novels. I promise we will practice every reading and writing skill using fun activities, , interesting articles and prompts and books and games, and will Incorporate  your own interests, goals in our lessons.
