School Board Wrap Up - August 6

During their August 6 meeting, the Danville School Board heard the following communication items:

• Coordinator for Advanced Learning and School Choice Dr. Dee Jordan presented an update of the 2025-2030 Gifted Plan, which included information about advanced course enrollment, identified gifted students, service options, and more.
• Board Member Keisha Averett provided and update from the July 16th Governance Committee meeting.

The board took the following actions:

• Approved personnel recommendations presented by Chief Human Resources Officer Angela Wimberly
• Approved the 2026-2027 Employee Code of Professionalism presented by Wimberly
• Approved an amendment to the FY 26-27 Budget presented by Chief Financial Officer Andrea Gillus, which includes a 4% salary increase, including the step increase, and a bonus for eligible employees.
