Galileo's Theatre Guild program has been in existence since 2003, originally created by Mrs. Johnson during her tenure with the school. Over the years, the program has maintained its place as a vibrant collective in which students with an interest in the performing arts come together to create and develop their skills for the school and community to see.

Each year, the Theatre Guild produces at least four productions:
A one-act play for the VHSL Theatre Festival competition* (fall)
*State Finalists in 2016 and 2021 (3rd Place, Individual Acting Award)
A full-length production, alternating between "straight plays" and musicals (spring/winter)
VHSL Film Festival Competition short film production(s) (spring)
Student Playwriting Festival: an evening of short plays written, directed and performed by our students for charity (spring)

Students interested in acting, stage crew, stage management, elements of design (stage make-up, for example) and even directing and playwriting are highly encouraged to join our program. Theatre is made of people and the only way that theatre will grow and change is if you become a part of it!
