BIOGRAPHY:

Dr. Oliver graduated from Morehead High School in Eden, NC in 1975. He was inducted into the National Honor Society as a senior. While in high school, Dr. Oliver served in the local rescue squad and was in the first EMT class to graduate from Rockingham Community College. He worked  part-time jobs operating a printing press and as a disc jockey at a local radio station. Dr. Oliver earned a Bachelor of Arts in Bible, Bible Languages, and History from Kentucky Christian College in Grayson, KY, graduating with honors in 1979. He received a Master of Divinity in 1985 and a Doctor of Ministry in 2003 from Emmanuel School of Religion in Johnson City TN. In 2004, Dr. Oliver received a Bachelor of Science in Special Education from North Carolina A & T University in Greensboro, NC in 2004. He has been teaching in self-contained classrooms since 2005. Dr. Oliver was assigned to the virtual instruction team at Westwood Middle School during the 2020-2021 school year and joined the faculty of I. W. Taylor Virtual Academy's inaugural year in 2021-2022.

Dr. Oliver enjoys everything history, horses, camping, dogs, and coffee.
