Welcome to Art 1, Art 2 or General Art (Special Education)!

Art 1 focuses on the Elements of Art. We will be exploring different 2 and 3-Dimensional art media, such as, but not limited to, drawing, origami, color mediums and sculpture. Vocabulary, digital Art making, art history, art criticism skills, and art careers will be explored, among other things. Some mediums may be messier than others, and it is recommended that you protect your clothing on these days. We will make use of technology, so bring your Chromebook every day.

Art 2 focuses on the Elements of Art and Principles of Design and color theory. We further explore different 2 and 3-Dimensional art media, such as, but not limited to, drawing, origami, color mediums and sculpture. Vocabulary, digital Art making, art history, art criticism skills, and art careers will be explored, among other things. Some mediums may be messier than others, and it is recommended that you protect your clothing on these days. We will make use of technology, so bring your Chromebook every day.

General Art (Special Education) is an art class in which we explore a variety of art mediums and processes, often focusing on the art-making process, instead of being results-driven. All students will do their own work, to the best of their ability. If they miss a day of class, we do our best to catch students up. We work on creating amazing projects, one step at a time, and practice our fine motor skills, pattern/shape recognition and explore contemporary artists and art history. Appropriate social skills are also worked on as we learn to contribute to the class community.
