Homework Assignment: Create an all about me timeline. You will need to start with a picture of yourself from when you were a baby (how old are you in that picture) and add a picture of each age. For example, baby picture, 1 year old, 2 year old, 3 year old, 4 year old, 5 year old, 6 year old, 7 year, 8 year old, 9 year old, and 10 year old.

This week we will be learning about the Indian tribes of Virginia. Homework for this week will be to pick one of the three Indian tribes and write a paragraph about them. Algonquian, Siouan, Iroquoian: Make sure to answer the questions who, what, where, and include language that each spoke.
Week 3: 8/21/23-8/25/23
This week students are learning about American Indians throughout the United States. Students are to complete one of the task listed below.
QUESTION: How accurate (culturally correct) are the mass-market images of American Indians? TASK 1: • The Smithsonian United States Postal Museum has a virtual exhibit titled “American Indians in Stamps.” Visit http://postalmuseum.si.edu/American-Indian-in-Postage-Stamps/. • As you analyze the images on the stamps of American Indian people, culture, and art, read the accompanying text to further your content knowledge. • Respond to the QUESTION above in a three-paragraph essay. Be sure to support your opinion with facts you have learned throughout this chapter, as well as information from the virtual exhibit.
TASK 2: • Create an image for a U.S. postage stamp that accurately depicts the people, tradition, and/or culture of each American Indian people learned in Chapter 2. You will design a total of five “stamps.” Inuit Kwakiutl Lakota Pueblo Iroquois • Write a minimum of two sentences to accompany each “stamp” to explain your image choice and how your design is an accurate reflection of the people, tradition, and/or culture of each American Indian group.

This week in social studies we will be learning all about the Europeans and American Indians and the conflicts that they had amongst each other.
Homework: Study the vocabulary words listed below. Pick two words and write them in a sentence. There will be a quick check at the end of the week to see if they understand the definitions.
