Benefits

  • Because employees are one of the most valuable resources of Danville Public Schools (DPS), we are pleased to offer a variety of benefits to meet the diverse needs of our employees. Below are links to the Benefits Guides for both full- and part-time employees that provide an overview of DPS's benefit offerings.

Enrolling in Benefits

  • Eligible new employees are strongly encouraged to enroll in the packaged health plan, and/or other benefits within 30 calendar days of their date of hire. Once the 30 days have passed, enrollment is permitted only during the annual open enrollment period or within 30 days of a qualifying event.  If employees submit their enrollment forms after the payroll deadline for the upcoming pay period, multiple deductions of premiums may occur from one or more future paychecks.

    • Coverage for new employees enrolling in the packaged health plan will be effective on the first day of the month following the date of hire.
    • Coverage for new employees enrolling in other benefits (i.e., Allstate Plans) will be effective on the first day of the month after working eleven (11) business days.  
    • Coverage for life insurance is effective on the first day of work. New enrollees will receive identification cards in the mail 7 - 10 business days following enrollment.
