Mr. Corey L. Torain Sr.

Mr. Corey Torain is a native of Danville, Virginia. If you ask him, he proudly touts his many many many stories of growing up in this beautiful city.

This 1989 graduate of George Washington High School is proud of the education he received here under the tutelage of his former principal, the late Mr. Robert Haskins. Mr. Torain states unequivocally that his experiences at GW afforded him a wealth of opportunities in both the secular and academic arenas. Mr. Torain has taught high school in both North Carolina and Virginia. This 21-year veteran holds both undergraduate and graduate degrees from the nation's largest Historical Black College, the North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.   Torain graduated magna cum laude in 2003 and Cum Laude in 2012; respectfully. He is a proud member of two honor societies, Kappa Delta Pi and Phi Alpha Theta.

Mr. Corey Torain returned to his Al-Mata 34 years later to give back to these deserving students the kind of education he himself received.
