Mrs. Natalie Duncan

Hello!

I am excited about the 2022-2023 school year and all the exciting learning opportunities that await us!

My family moved to Danville in the summer of 2021.  I started out as a 6th grade math teacher at Westwood Middle for the 2021-2022 school year and now I am the Academically Gifted (AG) Resource Teacher for Johnson, Woodberry, and Northside.  Prior to moving to Danville, I gained experience in grades Pre-K through 12th grade teaching music (choir, band, and general music) and academically gifted courses in North Carolina.  I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Music from Virginia Wesleyan University, Teacher Certification coursework from Old Dominion University, and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Regent University.

Here are a few fun facts about me in the form of an I Am poem:

  • I am Natalie Duncan
  • I am a wife to David and a mom of four children

  • Who is good at playing the flute

  • Who likes the color green

  • Likes to take day trips

  • Enjoys eating meals with my family

  • Has a friend named Rhonda

  • And wants to learn how to be a better version of myself.

  • That’s me!

Now, you try it.  When you are done, share it with family, friends, and me!

Our focus this year will be on critical thinking skills, learning how to think about different topics, and understanding sequencing and processes.  All of these skills are applicable across multiple content areas and can be duplicated in the classroom.  I look forward to many amazing learning opportunities and I have already had amazing opportunities to connect with teachers and students.  Here is to an amazing year!
