Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians,

Welcome to a new year at George Washington High School. I am both excited and honored to be your child’s teacher! I am looking forward to working with you and your child, as well as getting to know all of you. I promise to make learning as fun as possible while also providing quality instruction for all of my students.

We will begin by revisiting information that students were exposed to previously, then building upon that foundation of information. Each student will be challenged everyday with rigorous and meaningful instruction that is aligned with the state content standards in addition to exposing them to information that they will actually use in their daily lives. I demand excellence from all of my students and expect each one of them to put forth their absolute best effort each and every day.

It is my belief that the combination of organization, structure, and routine leads to positive behavior that will facilitate our student’s educational success. Because of this I have established rules and procedures to govern my students. These rules and procedures will be taught to them on the first day that they attend my class. We will aim for perfection by practicing these routines and procedures over the next several weeks. Students will have homework a few nights each week, however they will be notified in advance of homework, lessons, and assessments. Homework as well as announcements will be posted weekly in Canvas.

I pledge to work hard with you and your student in an effort to provide them with quality instruction. It is my expectation that students will match my efforts which will only further advance them on their educational journey.
