Hello everyone, my name is Mr. Stone! This is my fifth year as a teacher at Danville Public Schools. I have previously taught at George Washington High School from 2018-2021, and I taught at the IW Taylor Virtual Academy last school year. I've previously taught World History 1 & 2, US History, US Government, and World Cultures. As part of my student teaching experience in college, I co-taught two sections of AP US History.

I was born and raised in the area, graduating from Chatham High School and Averett University. At Averett, I majored in History with a minor in political science. I've worked on several research projects on local history and my capstone was on the Averett basketball program in the 1980s and 90s.

When I am not in school I like watching sports, racing, PC gaming, and listening to my very eclectic music collection. Anything from Flatt & Scruggs to Kendrick Lamar can be found on my playlist. I am a dog person. I have a chihuahua and a Doberman at home. I have coached the GW baseball team for the past 3 seasons, and am working on building a golf program at Galileo. I hope to see you in class and it's always a pleasure to meet and greet the students of Danville Public Schools!
